Warren Dayton's work became famous when it was collected as posters during the 1960's and 70's. 
About then, he had this great idea to put art on T-Shirts, big and in color! Funny: the store chain that commissioned the shirts, cancelled the line. They thought there would be no market for art on shirts..
Warren Dayton’s drawings and letter-forms, either painted or black and white, are characterized by their whimsy and playfulness, making a story or article come to life. Besides selling well, they have been honored numerous times in international awards annuals such as Graphis, Communication Arts, New York and LA Art Directors Club shows and many times selected by the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.
